My passion

October 25th, 2011 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

My guitar teacher is someone who I can turn to get some advice about how to improve my tennis game. He played high school and college tennis. He did really well in a doubles tournament while  he was playing a high school tournament. Along with teaching how to play the guitar he has bee gicing some pointers on how my game can improved upon. His adivce has translated to help in tournament  play.  I would also interview  my tennis coach who also played high school and  college tennis.

For basketball I would interview Michael Jordan, he in my opinion is the best basketball player of  all time. Michale Jordan is someone I would interview because he himself didnt make his high school basketball, but continued to work hard and made the team eventually made the team. That was something that inspired me, and made him one of my role models.

Those are the people I would interview for my passions that mean a lot to me. Tennis is a sport I want to play in high school. Basketball is also another sport I want to play in high school. I’ve been working hard on both sports and hopefully my work pays off.

PASSIONS…..

October 18th, 2011 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

There are somethings that interfere with my passion. First with basketball I have to get over playing video games. VIdeo games are something that I need to cut down on. I’ve noticed that video occupy a lot of my time. For basketball, I know that im going to have a height disadvantage.  Also homework, is something that I know is going  to be something that may interfere with my goals.

My passion

Basketball and Tennis are two of my passions. I started playing basketball probably when I was about six years old. Though I started at age six, i think i got really into basketball after my uncle visited me. He gave advise, now that has carried, over to me in the past years. Basketball is a sport I want to pursue into high school, but I Know it’ll take a lot of work, but  I have been working hard and plan on playing in a basketball league soon.

Tennis is also another sport I am planning on playing in high school. I plan to play in some tournaments, trying to gain a lot of experience. Right now I have a coach that is helping me improve my game. The plan is for me to make at least the jv team in tennis. Also, on my one time I’ve been practicing my serve, forehand, backhand, net game, and other of the game.

So overall summarizing my theses passions, I want to make the highschool team in both sports and do very well in both of them.  I have a lot of work to do, but so far I think I’m doing pretty, and im on the right track to making the highschool team for both sports. Below are some links and a picture realted to my passions.http://espn.go.com/nba/http://espn.go.com/tennis/

Browns

October 4th, 2011 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

The Browns lost to the Titans in a game that was totally dominated by the Titans.  Quarterback Matt Hasselback threw for 220 yards. Runningback Chris Johnson ran for 101 yards on 23 carries. The Titans were in complete control on both sides of the field. The Titans defense allowed 350 yards through the air but still managed to keep the Browns to a minute 13 points, mostly because their redzone defense was great.

The Browns did not play well coming off a win against the Dolphins. Colt McCoy went 40 of 61 for 350 yards throwing a touchdown, and also throwing an interceptiion that was returned for a touchdown by cornerback Jordan Babineaux 97 yards. Mccoy set club records for completions and attempts. The Browns still have many questions that still need to be answered.

Going into the bye week the Browns have some injury concerns. Cornerback Joe Haden has a sprained Knee. Wide Reciever Joshoua Cribbs also has a sprained knee. One bright spot was that Rookie Reciever Greg Little emerged and had a solid outing.

Browns

The Browns won a close game against the Dolphins last Sunday.  Even without Peyton Hillis the Browns overcame a Dolphins team that challenged the Browns throughout the whole game. The Browns were a bit stagnant on offense, but in the end pulled of the win with an amazing throw by Quarterback Colt McCoy and a great catch by Wide Reciever Mohamed Massaquoi. Joshua Cribbs was effective, catching a jumpball thrown to him for a touchdown.

McCoy was effective when the Dolphins had three of less rushers, but he struggled when the Dolphins started to blitz. On the final drive Colt McCoy was 9 of 13 for 80 yards including the game winning touchdown to Mohamed Massaquoi. McCoy himself said that the final 14 yard touchdown was his best throw of the day. On the other side the Dolphins Chad Henne was effective as well throwing for 244 yards.

Browns safety Mike Adams cliched the win with a game winning interception.  For the Browns to be effective they must be able to go on drives consistently like they did on the final drive. The defense was pretty good, except for a couple mishaps.

I first found my passion for sports at a very young age. I love to play sports. My favorites include Basketball, Tennis, and Football. In these blogs I will be writing about sports that I love to play.  I will mostly talk about whats happened recently in sports.

Yesterday the Giants beat the Rams, in a game that was dominated by the Giants. The Rams were without star runningback Steven Jackson who had a strained quad, tried to play but the trainers had told him to sit out the game. The Rams competed with the Giants the first quarter, but then The Giants figured out exploit the Rams defense. The offense of the Rams were struggling all night on offense. See more on http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=310919019 .

In other news, Peyton Manning the injured quarterback of the Colts made an appearance at the Colts practice. The Texans Arian Foster is still sore, and will be reavaluated by trainers. Falcons cornerback Duante Robinson was fined $40,000 for his illegal hit on Eagles reciever Jeremy Maclin. The Eagles are still unsure about the status of injured Quarterback Michael Vick, who suffered a neck injury during the Eagles week two loss against the Falcons.

Tennis: U.S. Open

September 20th, 2011 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

The mens U.S. Open match was to be remembered.  Novak Djokovic, the world number one player and Raphael Nadal, the world number two player gutted out one of the longest matches in Mens’s US Open history. Their match  lasted four hours and ten minutes. Djokivic battled ribs, back, and cramping legs, but found a way to hit the balls very well. Djokovic won the first set 6-2, after Nadal led early but Djokovic fought back and won the set. Then Djokovic won the match 6-2, 6-4, 7-6, 6-1 after a very lengthy match.

Djokovic returned Nadal’s serves very well. He often sent the ball back to Nadals feet or forcing him to make errors.  Surpisingly before the start of the year Nadal had led the head to head contest 16-7, but now the series is getting to be even at Nadal still leading the head to head contest 16-12.  Djokovic had very good placement of the balls. Often Djokovic had his shots placed near the lines. Both players covered the court well, but in the end Djokovic proved to be victoriuos.

With time still left in the tennis season, Djokic can still break the modern era of wins. John Mceneroe went 82-3, but he only won the two grandslams,  he lost in the French Open, and he didn’t play in the Australian Open.  In 2005, Rodger Fedder went 81-5,  winning two majors, and leaving in the semifinals. The only other men to win the 4 grand slam final in a year were Rod Laver and Ron Budge.
